Claim:

Verdict: FALSE.
Full Text:
A statement of result purportedly from the Isale Aro Salvation Army 1 Polling Unit in Osogbo has circulated across WhatsApp, Facebook and X, with users questioning apparent discrepancies between the figures and words written on the document.

The viral post claims that the polling unit had 625 registered voters and 204 accredited voters, but alleges that the total valid votes were recorded as 2,081 in figures and “two hundred and one” in words.
It further claims that the APC was allocated 164 votes in words, while the figure allegedly written on the form was 11,654.
The post questions the authenticity of the result and tags INEC, asking, “Why all these disparities?”
Given that the claim concerns an official election result and could influence public perception of the credibility of the Osun election, FactCheckAfrica examined the result published on INEC’s Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
Verification:
FactCheckAfrica reviewed the official Form EC 8A Statement of Result of Poll for the Isale Aro Salvation Army 1 Polling Unit (Code 003), Otun Jagun ‘B’ Ward, Osogbo Local Government Area.
The official result does confirm that the polling unit had 625 registered voters and 204 accredited voters.
However, the figures in the viral post do not correspond with the result available on the INEC IReV portal.
According to the official result, the APC received 116 votes, while Accord (A) received 82 votes. ADC, ADP and APGA each received one vote.
The votes recorded for the five parties therefore total 201 valid votes. This figure is consistent with the number written in words on the official result: “two hundred and one.”
The result therefore does not show 2,081 valid votes as alleged in the viral post. Similarly, the APC’s official result is 116 votes, not 11,654 or 164 votes.
The official Form EC 8A was signed by the Presiding Officer, Adigun Peace Tumise, and bears an INEC stamp dated August 15, 2026.

The figures are internally consistent: 116 + 82 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 201 valid votes.
The total of 201 valid votes is also below the 204 accredited voters recorded at the polling unit, meaning the result does not indicate that more votes were cast than the number of accredited voters.
Conclusion:
The official INEC result shows 204 accredited voters and 201 valid votes, not 2,081 valid votes. It also shows that the APC received 116 votes, while Accord received 82 votes and ADC, ADP and APGA received one vote each.
Therefore, the figures presented in the circulating post do not match the official result available on INEC’s IReV portal.
FactCheckAfrica advises citizens to verify election-result claims against official polling-unit results before sharing screenshots or claims that could create confusion about the integrity of the electoral process.
