Claim:

Verdict
False.
Full Text:
Jowosimi Olabamiji Enitan, popularly known as @LegendaryJoe on X, made the claim while reacting to the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) announcement of Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT); Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State; and Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State, as members of its presidential campaign council for the 2027 general election.
In his post, he wrote:
“APGA leads the campaign in Anambra.
Accord leads the movement in Osun.
Labour leads the cause in Abia.
PDP leads the Agenda in Rivers and the FCT.
One candidate. Five political parties. The Ultimate Coalition.
A Government of National Unity in motion.
Asiwaju: The Real Unifier.”
The appointments attracted attention because the three politicians mentioned belong to different political parties. Wike is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adeleke won the 2026 Osun governorship election under the Accord Party, while Soludo secured a second term in November 2025 under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
FactCheckAfrica seeks to establish whether the Labour Party is officially leading Tinubu’s re-election campaign in Abia State.
Verification:
To verify the claim, FactCheckAfrica reviewed reports on the APC’s 2027 presidential campaign council and the reported responsibilities assigned to campaign coordinators across the states.
According to the APC’s presidential campaign council list found here, the party adopted three categories of state coordinators for its 2027 presidential campaign. First, APC governors were appointed to coordinate the campaign in their respective states. Second, the party appointed governors from other political parties due to the political influence they hold in their respective states, these include Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State and Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party in Osun State.

Third, in states where the APC does not control the governorship and where no such cross-party arrangement applies, the party appointed its own governorship candidates to coordinate the presidential campaign. As such, in Abia State, the APC appointed its governorship candidate, Chijioke Chukwu, as the presidential campaign coordinator. This does not support the claim that the Labour Party is officially leading Tinubu’s re-election campaign in the state.
FactCheckAfrica also found that the national Labour Party (LP) presidential campaign council for the 2027 general elections has not yet been formally unveiled or inaugurated at the national level however the party has established a separate campaign structure in Abia State ahead of the 2027 governorship election with reports stating that Governor Alex Otti constituted the party’s governorship campaign council, with himself as chairman and other party officials assigned responsibilities across the state.
The existence of the Labour Party’s campaign council in Abia, however, does not establish that the party is leading Tinubu’s presidential re-election campaign. Although Enitan’s post describes a cross-party coalition involving politicians affiliated with different parties, the official APC campaign arrangements identify Chijioke Chukwu, the party’s Abia governorship candidate, as the state campaign coordinator.
Conclusion:
FactCheckAfrica found no evidence that the Labour Party has been officially designated to lead Tinubu’s re-election campaign in Abia State. The APC appointed its Abia governorship candidate, Chijioke Chukwu, as the state campaign coordinator.
Therefore, the claim is false.
