A renewed wave of public scrutiny has dominated online. This involved infidelity allegations between an Afrobeat star, Ezekpeazu Osebuka, popularly known as Chike, and Sandra Onyenucheya, a former wife to Frank Edoho, a veteran broadcaster.
The alleged scandal was reignited by a trending leaked conversation linked to Singer Chike and Frank’s former wife.
While the former host of a popular game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” has reacted to the alleged illicit affair, Ms Sandra has taken to social media to share her own side of the story.
The renowned TV show broadcaster reportedly disclosed to have terminated his marriage with her ex wife since two years ago on several occasions. He therefore claimed to have moved forward with life, saying “I am well. Focused. At peace, and deeply grateful for the love, respect, and support so many of you continue to show me. Thank you kindly.”
From her own part, Ms Sandra has also revealed her encounters during the short-lived three years marital relationship. She accused her former husband of engaging in long-term affairs with several celebrities, including Actress Mbong Amata, former Big Brother Naija star Tega Dominic, among others.
Meanwhile, several X (formerly Twitter) accounts have deepened the controversy, while giving it an additional layer of unrelated narratives. As many resurfaced numerous interviews earlier done by Singer Chike, others have circulated hoax contents against the musician.
Viral Unrelated Clips
On 14 May 2026, @HonestarsenalF resurfaced a clip capturing the Nigerian singer as he featured in an interview show. The 33-second video captured Chike while sharing his thoughts on the qualities he wants in the woman he would like to settle down with. However, the remaining part of the clip was replaced with a caption that reads: “Chike in an interview earlier this year.
“No matter how attracted I am to you, I’ll never marry you. All women are the same because I know what I do with other people’s wives, and I wouldn’t want that happening to me too. So, I’d rather stay single or just have a baby mama.”
The X user concluded the caption with a claim that Frank Edoho’s wife is the case study in the video, noting “Hmm chike the bad boy.”
As at the time of filing this report, the post has generated over 7,024 views, over 30 reposts, over 45 likes, and over 15 bookmarks.
A visit to the comment section showed that the majority of the viewers believe the post to be true. For example, @DAMZY5050 commented “Make una leave chike e dey enjoy lol.” Also, @PreshAyo25 said “He said his mind but he is dishing out what he can’t take. See your gender ehn.”

One of the misleading X post about Singer Chike and Ms Sandra
This reporter also spotted another similar post on the platform by another account @guylikesolomon on the same day. The X user resurfaced another video clip where Chike was sharing reasons he preferred to distance himself from engaging in a relationship with younger women around 23 years of age and below. However, the X user circulated the one-minute video out of context, as the entire caption is unrelated to what the speaker said in the clip.
“I’m always having sex with a married woman privately, but I never made it public. I’m surprised to see it circulating online, as I prefer to keep my personal life out of the spotlight — Chike,” the caption carried.
Within 24 hours, the post has amassed nothing less than 96,000 views, 43 reposts, 194 likes, and 89 bookmarks.
When this reporter visited the comment section, people believed the post to be true. @machalagun wrote “Wow a lot of married women will really be attracted to chike.” Another user, @ObasiPriscillia noted “Did he just say that!!Does this boy have parents?”

X Account Targeting Chike
Over the last 24 hours when the scandal was reignited on the internet, a parody account, @MRmneyheod has focused his campaign on pushing false narratives about the Afrobeat singer. A comb through the account showed that the allegation had appeared as the top topic shared by the user. The account has been seen linking Singer Chike to having been involved in multiple illicit affairs with other public figures as seen here, here, and here.
One topical instance is the claim against the singer and other female colleagues, Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, better known as Simi. The post was supported with three pictures, accompanied with a caption that claimed: “Chike and Simi has a leaked sex tape 😳. I knew it was more than just a music collab. I wonder how her husband adekunle gold will feel after he sees this video 😭😭😭.”
The post has garnered at least 1 million views, 268 reposts, 4,380 likes, and 710 bookmarks, with viewers in the comment section relying on the narrative.
However, investigation on the claim by this reporter showed that the claim is misleading. When we subjected the first frame to Google Lens, results led us to similar images uploaded online as far as dated back to January 2026. Some social media users associated the frame as capturing a scene of a leaked video of an unlawful sexual intercourse between Simi and another male colleague, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz. The same account has earlier claimed in April that the video originated from a leaked sex tape between Simi and her husband, Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko, known professionally as Adekunle Gold. Therefore, contradictions on the true story of the frame raised a red flag, pointing to misinformation.

A X account targeting Singer Chike
Other individuals claimed by the account to have engaged in illicit sexual affairs with Chike are Omowunmi Aloba, called Wumni, the wife of a deceased Nigerian rapper, Mohbad; Tonto Charity Dikeh, a Nigerian Actress famously known as Tonto Dikeh; and Chioma Adeleke, a wife to an Afrobeat giant, David Adeleke, known as Davido.
Earlier Trends, Implications:
False allegations of unlawful sexual intercourse, including rape, sexual harassment, and misconduct, against Nigerian celebrities have resulted in severe consequences over the years. This often caused permanent reputational damage, financial loss, and emotional distress, even when allegations are later proven false or retracted.
Between 2025 and 2026, several high-profile cases underlined the growing concern of “digital lynching” that is being staged on social media. The reason is not far from the fact that unverified accusations are treated as truth because of their sensitivity, met by poor awareness of media literacy, even before investigations are completed.
In 2025, a Nigerian X user, Nwaeze Tochukwu, popularly known as Nwaeze Oyibo, shared a photo of himself and Oyeyemi Evelyn, known as Princess. He claimed that the two were celebrating their relationship. Shortly after, Nwaeze made another post alleging that Oyeyemi was his “mutual” in 2023 before he claimed that he had slept with her and paid for that.
The post sparked widespread backlash and reportedly exposed Oyeyemi to online bullying, threats, mockery, and even doxxing. Following the incident, legal steps were reportedly taken by the affected parties.
Nwaeze was reportedly arrested, after which he issued a public apology to the victim after making false claims about her on social media.
The above scenario mirrored a sobering problem playing out across social media spaces involving Nigerians.
Conclusion:
After rigorous investigation by this reporter, it was revealed that several social media users, particularly on X, have been manipulating the recent controversy involving an infidelity scandal between Singer Chike and Ms Sandra, with the users being rewarded with growing engagements through the hoax narratives.
